The main work of AFNU (French Association for the United Nations), like the United Nations Association of the United States of America (UNA-USA) or the United Nations Association of Great Britain and Northern Irland (UNA-UK), is to contribute to the knowledge promotion about the United Nations. To reach this goal, AFNU organises, among many others activities, academic-purpose events such as conferences, film projections or educational trips to Geneva or New York where the UN holds its activities.
Founded in 1918 under the name of Assocition française pour la Société des Nations (French Association for the League of Nations), following the creation of the League of Nations, AFNU is today recognised as a French "Public Utility" organisation.
